My Unique 300 FAN CELEBRATION on Facebook

I was inspired by a fellow POSH NURSERY team member to *think outside the box* as I slowly begin the approach toward 300 wonderful fans!

I may not have very much to give away but I can certainly create something special for SOMEONE SPECIAL and I realized that most people always have SOMEONE SPECIAL on their hearts and in their minds.

Although this SPECIAL CELEBRATION is being announced here as well as my other blog, a person must 1st *LIKE my FACEBOOK PAGE* before they can enter!

Contact can be made directly to aboundingtreasuresATgmail.com OR via the Contact Form on the LEFT side of my FACEBOOK PAGE --

I wanted to get people to think of OTHERS ~ someone ELSE who might be blessed in some small way by receiving one of my 3D collages or pieces of art but maybe cannot afford one or doesn't know about them?

In the EMAIL or CONTACT MESSAGE, I need to know --
  • ONLY their 1st name
  • the REASON[S] why YOU believe I should choose the name/person YOU are submitting!
ALL names and REASONS must be submitted by the time the NUMBER of FANS reaches 300 ~ Name + Reason[s] SUBMISSIONS can be given at any time to ensure that they're included.

As soon as the FAN NUMBER hits 300, I'll post a notice that I will NO longer be taking any more submissions!

Once I choose the winner, I'll contact the person who SUBMITTED them for their Full Name and Mailing Address as well as the age group of the person receiving this special gift.

When the 3D art is shipped to the Chosen SUBMITTED NAME, I'll include a GIFT TAG with the NAME of the person submitting it as the VERY THOUGHTFUL GIVER :)

I hope this comes across as it's meant and that it gets people to think of others rather than themselves ~ something I'm learning still, after all these years!

Blessings!

One Thousand Gifts

Ann Voskamp is an amazing writer whose words never fail to touch my heart or to ignite a memory or simply to paint a picture in my mind's eye!

She has written a book called One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are and I ordered it for my daughter as one of her Christmas presents even though it's not going to be available for delivery until the first week of February!

I'm also going to ask for a copy for my birthday in the middle of February because I don't think I can wait to borrow someone else's copy and would love to read it at the same time as my daughter so we can share thoughts :o)

Blessings,

News on My Radio Today

My "Prep" Corner

I don't usually listen to the radio while I'm doing preparations for my homemade soup or for supper but today I did and finally there was news that wasn't about war or devastation!!

The 1st one was an interview with the maker of the new documentary film called Last Train Home in which he followed 1 family in China for 3 years as they make their annual trek home for Chinese New Year to see the children they left behind with grandparent 16 years previously so they could find work in the factories in the big cities ... they only get to see them ONCE every year for a few days!

The 2nd one was an interview with 2 very elderly ladies who back in the 1960s realized that local teens needed help to succeed. Help to understand the world around them. Financial help to get them through college and with the aid concerned parents, they began with $35.00 per month each for the 6 teens they sponsored each year -- but they made a difference.

A Link -- Being Salt + LIght

Earlier today, I read an excellent post by Michele at *Whatsoever Things are Lovely* ~ I found her response to a reader's question to be wonderful, so practical and well thought out, that I wanted to keep it on a permanent basis for myself and felt certain that others would benefit from it also!

You Have Touched My Heart - The Alabaster Box

In browsing some of my favourite blogs, I came across a post that I just have to share called *WHEN THE TEARS STOP*.

Kaysie of *The Alabaster Box* describes herself as: "Sinner. Saved. Disciple. Writer. Thinker. Reader. Seeker. Listener. Passionate. Creative. Joyful. Weak. Imperfect. Simple."

Here's the opening paragraph:

"Life can have a hardening effect on me at times.
Things that once moved my heart or even created a tear

become callous expected moments that I can thoughtlessly handle.
No surprises. No weakness. No problems. Call me capable.

While on the outside I may appear to handle life gracefully,
inside my heart grows dead,
breaking into infertile pieces of dry crust.
And the Spirit struggles to penetrate."

From reading her blog on many occasions, I can tell you that she is a young woman with a heart for God and He has blessed her with an amazing talent for writing and she shares what she is learning from Him in her daily experience on her blog.

Go on over and read the rest of this challenging and encouraging post for yourself and I'm sure you'll be as blessed as I was :o)

Better Than Cement -- A Link

I discovered a new-to-me blog called BEAUTIFUL GRACE and wanted to share her wonderful post entitled *BETTER THAN CEMENT* where she has been able to convey the awesomeness and beauty that is found in God's creation.

It's amazing for me to realize that she is only 16 years old and on her "About Me" page, she refers to herself as a 'rebelutionary maiden' and quotes Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Do not go where the path may lead;
go instead where there is no path
and leave a trail. ”

May you be blessed as much as I was :o)

My 200th Post + My New Genealogy Blog

With this 200th post, I am very pleased to announce COUNTRY HEARTS Genealogy, in blog format.

I have been researching our joint family tree since 1998 and it's become a passion with me.

I began to help others in various parts of the world, then a little over a year ago I decided to try my hand at doing it professionally via a home-based business.

ALL of the SINGLE EVENT research rates have been DISCOUNTED in the new blog and they reflect my interest in others learning of their ancestry the way I have, rather than my trying to make any sort of living at this :o)

Please feel free to browse it and notice that there is no commenting on it; rather, any questions are answered privately via email exchanges.

My previous business website will be eliminated at the end of this year.
