Lack of Water
We had a wonderful weekend! On Saturday we visited the same elderly friend who gifted my husband with a Bible not too long ago. He lives in a nearby nursing home and we always enjoy our visits together.
On Sunday afternoon we headed over to the special ministry meetings that were taking place in a giant outdoor tent as part of a weekend-long conference with hundreds of people. The Lord blessed us with wonderful sunny weather and from time to time, a nice breeze. We renewed some old friendships and met some new brothers and sisters in the Lord.
On our return home Sunday evening, I could see that my patio tomato plant had keeled over ~ I hadn't watered it Sunday morning and because of the day long sun, it must have dried out and I was so disappointed because it had been growing like crazy and I was so looking forward to enjoying its abundant fruit when the time came.
I gave it a HUGE drink and my husband strengthened the tie and tall stick he had put in a couple of weeks ago for extra support and I realized that by morning I'd know if it was going to survive . . .
I'm happy to report that it's standing tall and it's no longer wilting!!
It reminds me of ME - if I don't take nourishment from the Word of God on a regular basis, I can wilt and keel over in the circumstances that come into my life.
Time spent in the Word or time spent under the sound of its teaching are always refreshing and encouraging!!

The Joys in Everyday Activities
It's been a typical day here ... - I've done a bit of housework
- done 2 loads of laundry; chopped and sliced everything for tonight's homemade pizza
- sliced everything up for my husband's salad for work tomorrow
- baked a batch of yummy muffins which I've already put in the freezer
- answered a genealogy query in my position as a volunteer transcriber of old church register records for a small parish in Cornwall, England
- spread 3 huge bags of topsoil around my front garden plants
- watered my patio tomato plant that is FULL of growing tomatoes
- thanked my most recent Etsy customer for her purchase

A Stroll Around Our Yard
It was such a beautiful afternoon last Friday so I took my camera and went on a stroll around our yard ... it's amazing what beauty can be growing right under your nose ...I had no idea I'd captured a bug of some sort on this shrub until I uploaded the photos ~ it was a complete accident and I have no idea what kind of bug it is?!

New Residents in our Yard
Brrr! It's cold, windy and rainy here today and there's actually the threat of an inch or so of snow in the next couple of days :o(I've seen several robins bobbing along and trust that spring IS still on the way ~ the last warm day we enjoyed earlier this week greeted me with these new residents at the side of our yard ... as much as I love pansies, I know they spread even where you don't want them but they are pretty!
Blessings,

Summer Gathers Up Her Robes
"When summer gathers up her robes of glory,
and like a dream of beauty glides away."
~ Sarah Helen Power Whitman ~
~ Sarah Helen Power Whitman ~
Autumn is definitely here
as the last of my flowers are slowing
fading from their previous glory!
These lovely mauve ones are
still in fairly full bloom at my neighbour's next door!
As I wander to the mailbox each morning,
these unknown-to-me yellow *weeds-wild flowers*
greet me!

Have most of your garden flowers
faded into memory?
We planted 5-7 dwarf burning bush shrubs along the side
of our yard bordering our neighbour's last year.
Although another neighbour up the street has them
and they've already turned a flaming, scarlet red,
ours are still as green as green can be!
Does anyone know what causes them
to turn deep red?
