Hand Made Greetings

A warm and cozy Wednesday to everyone! We've been experiencing the longest spell of icy cold temperatures we've had in over 20 years!

The forecast for our area tonight is for about 4 inches of snow then freezing rain which is supposed to change over to *plain* rain ~ so it promises to be make driving a bigger challenge than usual :o)

I've got about 10 inches of rows done on my daughter's afghan and I try to work on it a little here and there when I have a few minutes so that it's done leisurely.

After being inspired by Sharon at The Shepherds House, I finally decided Saturday afternoon to try my hand at creating some hand made cards and thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Here are all the ones I've made so far . . .My daughter phoned Monday and after I told her about them,
she said she would be thrilled if I could make her some
*Thank You* and *Thinking of You* cards :o)

When I told her that would be difficult for me to do
because I love florals and pastels and she doesn't ---
she suggested that I try a few with a *modern* look
and the ones below were the result of that suggestion . . .

Whenever I use dark card stock,
I've decided to make a light coloured inner lining
so the handwriting is easier to read.
You can see it inside the bottom card
which is laying flat
simply because I haven't yet glued on the bow :o)

Any suggestions as to the most effective way
of attaching a bow to the card
would be most welcome!

Not only will these come in handy for any upcoming special occasions, but I'm aving a ball making them and with time, hopefully I'll come up with new ideas and more intricate designs.

With the bits and pieces of scraps left over after each card is made, I'm planning on making special bookmarks which I'll be able to pop into cards or letters as little gifts that can travel anywhere and hopefully brighten someone's day :o)
