Marriage, in God's Eyes

. . . Have ye not read,
that he which made them at the beginning
made them male and female,
And said,

For this cause shall a man leave father and mother,
and shall cleave to his wife:
and they twain shall be one flesh?

Wherefore they are no more twain,
but one flesh.
What therefore God hath joined together,
let not man put asunder.

~ Matthew 19:4-6 ~
"We are souls living in bodies.
Therefore, when we really fall in love,
it isn't just a physical attraction.
If it's just that, it won't last.

Ideally, it's also a spiritual attraction.
God has opened our eyes and
let us see into someone's soul.

We have fallen in love with the inner person,
the person who is going to live forever.

He thought it up in the first place.
Include Him in every part of your marriage,
and He will lift it above the level of mundane
to something rare and beautiful and lasting."

From "A Man Called Peter" by Catherine Marshall

Dear Dallas,

We as mothers must teach this to our children...both our sons and daughters.

But also, we as mothers, must let go and allow the Lord to keep the brand new unit, strong and centered on Him.

Thank you for sharing dear friend...

Mari,

What a delightful way of putting it-
"must let go and allow the Lord to keep the brand new unit, strong and centered on Him" . . . that is so true and so very important!

Blessings to you and yours this weekend,
Dallas
